Post WC debacle, BCCI opts for selection committee shakeup

"No person who has been a member of any Cricket Committee (as defined in the BCCI's rules and regulations) for a total of five years shall be eligible to be a member of the Men's Selection Committee," the BCCI stated. Mohanty has served on the junior selection committee for two years, so he has served four of the five years he is entitled to on a cricket panel. Joshi and Singh have served as selectors for 32 months, and chairman Chetan Sharma will not even serve for two full years before being forced to step down. All of them are leaving too soon.
Since Sourav Ganguly failed to win a second term at the AGM last month, the new BCCI administration has been considering a fresh start.
