On the West Indies tour, India will play two T20Is in the United States

It appears that the Indian team's stopover in the United States on a Caribbean tour is essential. The Indian squad will play the West Indies in a few Twenty20 Internationals at Central Broward Park & Broward County Stadium in Lauderhill, Florida, just like they did last year.

The two games will be the eight-game series' intended add-on matches. They were initially envisaged in the ICC-approved Future Tours Programme (FTP). In total, there will be five Twenty20 Internationals, three ODIs, and two Tests between July and August.

The two additional games that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Cricket West Indies (CWI) decided upon during recent ICC meetings in Dubai were covered by Cricbuzz on March 25.

The Florida schedule was verified to this website on Wednesday by a CWI member (April 5). "This is the strategy. The two extra games, like last year, will be played in Florida barring unforeseen circumstances "explained the official. The matches will be solely run by the CWI, with little to no involvement from USA Cricket, the country's cricket regulatory organization.

"Against USAC. The CWI is the host organization at the Broward Stadium with unique commercial contacts and arrangements for local operations. This is extremely similar to how the US matches would be conducted at the 2024 World Cup "a CWI representative remarked. A representative from USAC declined to comment.

Similar arrangements were made the previous year, but they nearly failed due to visa issues, which this website had reported at the time. The imminent crisis at the moment was averted by the president of Guyana's last-minute intervention.

"The visa appointments in Trinidad were botched up beyond our control, so we were forced to reschedule to fly those without visas to Guyana in between the St. Kitts and Florida matches, at tremendous expense and difficulty to all parties. Several West Indians were also present "The CWI representative clarified the situation in the hopes that this time, there won't need to be such a last-minute rush. The two games took place on August 6 and 7 of the previous year.

In the second week of July, India will begin the 10-game series with three Test matches, three ODIs, and then five T20 Internationals. In the third week of August, India will depart from the US and go to Ireland to compete in three Twenty20 Internationals. According to Cricbuzz, the BCCI has been given the West Indies tour schedule, which would be released after the Indian board gets the go-ahead.

SLC-Sony deal confirmed

According to Sony Pictures Networks India (SPN), the global media rights to broadcast Sri Lankan matches have been extended for an additional four years, till March 2027. This agreement was covered by Cricbuzz on March 5.

Starting in April 2023, the broadcaster will have the exclusive right to broadcast and live stream all senior men's matches hosted by SLC over the term of the agreement, with the exception of Sri Lanka, where it will only have paid television rights.
